Advice Services

In the Social Welfare Department we cover a number of issues, which you may need help with. If you have any concerns in the following areas, please do not hesitate to call us today or visit the centre for a consultation.

Welfare Benefits

We offer help with Income Support, Job Seekers Allowance, Attendance Allowance, Child Benefit, Working Tax Credits, Housing Benefit, Child Tax Credit, Pensions and many more.

Financial

Are you experiencing financial difficulties? For example paying bills or perhaps you have more than one bill which you are unable to pay. Then come down to the centre we may be able to help find you a suitable solution.

Consumer Law

Have you recently purchased goods that do not work or have you entered into an agreement which you no longer want to be part of? We may be able to help you.

Letters and Documentation

Have you received a letter which you ace having difficulty understanding. We will try to help you understand the content of the letter and explain what you are required to do. If you have problems writing a letter or just need your letter typed we can help you.

Form Filling

Need help filling in a form passport applications, driving license applications, benefit forms (income support disability living allowance, attendance allowance, child benefit, housing benefit and council tax etc)? Whatever the type of form, we can help you complete it.

Immigration and Nationality

Do you have a problem that is related to immigration and you do not know what to do or where to go? Are any of these areas of concern? Marriage applications, change of status, work permits, visa applications. Then contact us we may be able to help you or refer you to someone who can.

Education

Are you having problems at school, are you about to enter into negotiations with a school regarding your child and you are not sure of your rights, need help in getting your child into a school or do you have a child with special educational needs and require help with their education. We are here to help.

Solicitors

We have solicitors who hold surgeries at acmc. If you need a specialist solicitor we are able to refer you to one.

Jamaican High Commission Surgery

On every first Thursday of the month the Jamaican High Commission holds surgeries at acmc. These surgeries are an opportunity for people living in the West Midlands, to utilize the services of the

Jamaican High Commissions.

Opening Times:

10.00am - 1.00pm 2.00pm - 5.30pm Monday - Thursday

10.00am - 1.00pm 2.00pm - 5.00pm Friday

Drop In Surgeries

You can drop in without an appointment between the hours of 10.00am to 12.00am Monday, Tuesday and Thursday. Except every first Thursday when the Jamaican High Commission surgeries are held at the centre.
